Born from the opportunity to create something fresh and new in the heart of Wash Park—at the very location where owner Raechel spent a decade behind the chair—The Local Parlor began as a vision.
A modern, welcoming space with clean lines, neutral tones, and a touch of green from thriving plants. A team of inspired, talented stylists working with guests of every style, age, and background. The atmosphere feels good—filled with great music, open doors on a sunny Colorado day, and the scent of something wonderful in the air. Neighbors wave as they pass, dogs stop in for treats, and friends reconnect by chance on their way out.
That vision came to life—thanks to our incredible team. They make The Local Parlor a place where everyone feels welcome, has fun, and leaves looking and feeling amazing. We believe in giving back, nurturing creativity, and staying rooted in our community.

An inhabitant of a particular area or neighborhood. We wanted to create a space that feels like it belongs to the neighborhood, where locals gather and newcomers quickly become part of the community.
Parlor.
/ˈpärlər/ noun
A room for receiving guests; smaller than a salon and more community-friendly, often located in the owner's home. Historically, parlors were where communities naturally formed—intimate spaces for genuine connection.

BEYOND THE CHAIR
Our Community Impact
Community is at the heart of The Local Parlor. We team up with nearby Wash Park businesses, support causes that matter, and stay involved in ways that feel genuine and hands-on.
Each year, we head up a team for the Furry Scurry to raise money for Humane Colorado—stylists, clients, friends, family, and plenty of dogs all walking together for a good cause. In the summer, we host our annual backpack drive for Kenzie’s Causes, then we spend the day giving more than a hundred + free haircuts to kids after they pick up their new gear.
It’s our way of investing in the place—and the people—that make this area so special.
